Weekly Reminder
June 23, 2010
Throughout this week there has been an echo in the halls. We are all hearing and saying “I can’t believe that the year is over already!” We wonder where the time seemed to go, and how did it pass so quickly? Looking at your children, we can see that they’ve grow so much, physically, academically and socially. We compare work that they did in September to work that they just finished this week. Report cards are being written, desks are being cleaned out and little reminders are popping up everywhere, reminding us of how our students have changed since September.
Saying good-bye to a class is more difficult for a teacher than you might realize. A bond is created, much like a small community, and a large family all rolled into one. Together teachers and students have experienced joy, sorrow, success, failure, change, growth, surprise and disappointment. We see each other almost every day and spend about half of our waking hours together. During this time we learn how we live through our academic studies and why we live through our study of the arts. We also learn patience, compassion, empathy, how our behavior affects others and why it is important to care.
Saying good-bye to a class is much like watching our own children grow up (a little) and move ahead in the world. This is a heartwarming experience which we treasure, so on behalf of all of the faculty at TCS thank you for sharing such a precious a part of your child’s life with each of us.
Brian Davis, Superintendent/Principal
