Welcome to the

Truro Tercentennial Quest!

A "Quest" is a treasure hunt that teaches its particpants about a special place.  The students and teachers of Truro Central School in Truro, Massachusetts would like to invite you to learn more about our Cape Cod town.

The Town of Truro, located at the “wrist” of the Cape Cod peninsula, celebrates its tercentennial in 2009.  Incorporated on July 16, 1709, Truro can trace some of its earliest recorded roots back to the landing of the Pilgrims in Provincetown Harbor in 1620.   Although not the first Europeans to explore what is now Truro, the group of fifteen men under the leadership of Captain Miles Standish spent time exploring the area from East Harbor (now Pilgrim Lake) to Pamet Harbor.  Throughout its 300 years, the Town of Truro has undergone many transformations--from an extension of the Town of Eastham to a whaling and fishing giant to a popular tourist destination.  Please join us on a journey through time as we explore Truro through the years!
